A small town

In the middle

Of nowhere

Destiny converged.


Two like minds

And two like spirits

Lead completely separate lives


Two comets aflame

Each bound by fate

For the same destination


Reaching ground zero

An explosive, cataclysmic event


As hopes and dreams,

Friendship and love

All came together


To create a new dawn

They

We sit on opposite sides

Within the hands of gods

Pawns to their delight


We try to choose our fate

Defying laws of old

Looking, heavenward to the stars

Seeing what is foretold


Within the hands of gods

We sit silently, eyes pleading

Within the hands of gods

Emotions, hearts careening


Hand in hand we break away

Holding on so dear

Running, never looking back

Pulling each other near

Our fates were once handwritten

We are not defeated
