Energy

Moonlight

seeps into the room -

The glow

catching the edge of a robe.

Fabric trembling,

concealing,

a figure below.

Melodic chants,

low, whispered,

iced with pain.

Sudden gasps break the rhythm,

renewed breaths continue through.

Hands swiftly,

deftly

form the incantation,

stumble slightly,

determination pushing on.

Fingers bloodied and cracked from Power wielded,

and Power ultimately tamed.

A lone cloud blocks the light -

The air thickening with magic.

The robe

pools to the floor.

Sobs breaking.

Hands of Gods

Within the hands of gods

We sit on opposite sides

Within the hands of gods

Pawns to their delight

We try to choose our fate

Defying laws of old

Looking, heavenward to the stars

Seeing what is foretold

Within the hands of gods

We sit silently, eyes pleading

Within the hands of gods

Emotions, hearts careening

Hand in hand we break away

Holding on so dear

Running, never looking back

Pulling each other near

Within the hands of gods

Our fates were once handwritten

Within the hands of gods

We are not defeated
